Before you start.
Can I slow down and loop a YouTube video?
Yes. Repeat sections and choose from the playback speeds supported by the video. Playback stays inside the YouTube player; BARS does not download or separate the audio.
Is BARS only for rap?
No. BARS works for instruments and vocals. Its tempo grid and bar controls are designed for musical passages you can count in measures.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
BARS is free, with no account required. You need a browser, an internet connection, and a YouTube video that allows embedded playback.
Where is my practice saved?
Your session stays in this browser on this device. It does not sync across devices and can be lost if you clear browser storage. The embedded player connects to YouTube, and fonts load from Google Fonts.
Does it find the tempo or write out lyrics?
You mark a measure to establish the tempo and can paste lyrics yourself. BARS does not automatically transcribe songs or generate lyrics.
